Today in Ms. Benwares algebra AB class we took our "Properties of Exponents" quiz. After we finished we all were forced to go on Carnegie Tutor. Our homework tonight is to finish unit 6 of carnegie tutor. We did not collect any homework.

First thing we did today was our warm up and mad minute. Then the class and I worked on some problems that we didnt understand on the homework sheet. FUN* with negative exponents!

Today in another exciting day in algebra we went over negative exponents and how to convert them by flipping to either the numerator or the denominator. we started the morning with a warm up followed writting down notes about the negative exponents in are card notes.  After that we worked on a new mad minute, followed by working on the whiteboards to get better with are skills at the negative exponents routine.  What was collected today was the 8.3 practice sheet.

Today we reviewed with exponents. We multiplied with exponents. We divided with exponents. We also subtracted with exponents. As a class we worked on the white boards and reviwed exponents that way to get more practice. Nothing was collected today in class. The homework was 8.2 all.

We took a quiz in our back to basic books. We learned a lot about exponents. We learned when you multiply by the same base you add the exponents and when you raise power to power you multiply the exponents.

Carnegie Day- Ashley Kenne

We worked on Carnegie Learning today to practice our math skills. Yesterday we learned how the vertex moved on a graph and how the slope changed depending on the number substituted for "a". We graph the vertex on the origin first and then we figured out how to move it depending on the numbers inside and outside of the absolute value bars.

Finding Vertexes-Grace

Today in class, we learned how to solve vertexes by graphing equations on our calculators.
We noticed when the number was inside, the vertex moved over to the right or left.
When the number was on the outside, the vertex moved up or down. This can help us find
the vertex.

Rangers Activity JAKE

Today, we did many challenges of making a "V" with the Rangers. We had to make a steady speed v, a opp. direction, and slower speed.It was FUN. We also learned about vertices, the vertex is the point at the end of the "V". The vertex worksheet was collected. There is no homework. :)

Today in class our class worked with absolute value. After our warm up we took a quiz which was also on absolute value. Once everyone in the class completed the quiz the other math class came in and we all worked on the tutor. The quiz was passed into the bin along with our homework from the night before, and there is no homework tonight for this class.

Baking some cake! Matt Dube

Today we worked more on solving inequalities by creating a cake and having people work on the  different  layers and determine what length the cake should be by using inequalities. We also learned that an absolute value  has no solution when its equal to a negative number. We also learned how your absolute value related to error. we also timed ourselves with stopwatches and tried to guess when a minute went by.

Absolute Value Inequalities-Miss Benware

Today we worked on Absolute Value equations. We learned that we must get the absolute value alone before we write the two equations. (Make the mountain or upside down V) We learned how to graph absolute value inequalities. To solve an absolute value inequality you keep one inequality the same on the other inequality you flip the sign and make the number negative.
